Sudah menjadi sebuah budaya bagi kita untuk selalu mengadakan acara tukeran kado disaat natal, seringkali karena hal ini, kita menjadi kehilangan makna natal yang sesungguhnya bahwa Tuhan telah menyediakan hadiah natal yang paling sempurna untuk kita semua.
Beberapa waktu yang lalu ada acara tukeran kado bagi kami di acara pastoral dinner, dan panitia mengatakan bahwa ada acara secret santa tetapi semua dari kita tidak ada yang mau mencuri karena merasa tidak enak dan puas dengan kado masing-masing.
Tetapi beberapa dari kita tentu pernah merasa kecewa disaat acara tukeran kado . Saya sendiri pernah menerima kado dalam acara tukeran kado dengan mendapat CD lagu saya sendiri.
Hadiah di dalam definisi bahasa indonesia adalah sesuatu yang diberikan secara cuman-cuma dan tanpa paksa, hadiah yang paling susah kita berikan adalah untuk orang yang kita kasihi. Sewaktu kita memberikan kado, kita selalu ingin memberikan yang terbaik untuk orang yang kita kasihi.

Opening Verse – “Hari ini telah lahir bagimu Juruselamat, yaitu Kristus, Tuhan, di kota Daud.” Lukas 2:11 TB
Juru selamat ini bukan sekedar manusia, tetapi juga Tuhan yang disebut Kristus. Dia adalah hadiah yang sempurna karena pesan daripada natal adalah bahwa Tuhan kita, pencipta seluruh dunia dan jagat raya, tetapi Dia juga menjelma menjadi manusia.
Seperti ibarat-nya ada seseorang yang datang kepada kita, mau memberikan hadiah dan berupa segalanya untuk kita semua, atau ibaratnya ada orang yang ingin memberikan seluruh isi “plaza indonesia” bagi kita semua.
Itu yang Tuhan lakukan, kado yang diberikan kepada kita semua agar kita mempunyai kehidupan yang kekal. Hadiah yang datang dalam bentuk seorang bayi bernama Yesus’ diberikan secara cuma-cuma tanpa paksaan, tetapi bukan berarti tidak ada harga yang harus dibayar.
Segala sesuatu yang kita terima secara gratis, selalu ada orang lain yang membayar akan hal itu agar kita bisa menerimanya. Disaat kita menerima kado yang gratis, tentu ada seseorang atau perusahaan yang membeli kado itu untuk kita. Sama juga dalam hal-nya oleh Kado atau Pemberian yang bernama Yesus Kristus.
Karena Tuhan sangat mengasihi dunia, dan menyerahkan AnakNya secara cuma-cuman, tetapi bukan berarti tidak ada yang membayarnya dengan mahal.

“Karena kita tahu bahwa Allah sudah bayar utang kita supaya kita dibebaskan dari hidup kita yang sia-sia, yang kita mewarisi dari nenek moyang kita. Dan waktu Ia bayar utang itu, Ia tidak memakai hal-hal dari dunia ini, seperti emas dan perak, karena semua dari dunia dapat rusak. Tetapi apa yang dibayar untuk kita jauh lebih berharga, yaitu darah Kristus, yang sudah dipersembahkan seperti domba yang sama sekali tidak bercacat atau bercela.” 1 Petrus 1:18-19 AMD

Natal ada agar Dia bisa mati untuk kita semua, itulah tujuan dan “Hati” dari Natal. Hadiah ini ada di tangan kita semua untuk menyelamatkan kita semua, yang kita perlu lakukan hanya menerima-Nya saja.
Ada 3 hal tentang hadiah yang saya ingin bagikan :
1. Believe that this Gift is for you
Jika kado ini ada namanya, tentu itu milik dan untuk kita. nama kita semua ada di dalam hati Yesus.
Firman Tuhan bahkan mengatakan bahwa Dia tahu nama setiap dari kita, bahkan saat sebelum kita dilahirkan. His Gift is for us. Dia datang untuk kita semua, karena nama kita semua ada di Hati-Nya.
Supporting Verse – “Maka sekarang firman Tuhan, yang membentuk aku sejak dari kandungan untuk menjadi hamba-Nya, untuk mengembalikan Yakub kepada-Nya, dan supaya Israel dikumpulkan kepada-Nya — maka aku dipermuliakan di mata Tuhan, dan Allahku menjadi kekuatanku –, firman-Nya:” Yesaya 49:5 TB
2. Accept The Gift
Seharusnya ini menjadi bagian yang mudah, tetapi seringkali di budaya indonesia, kita suka merasa tidak enakan disaat menerima sebuah kado atau hadiah, bahkan jika sudah ada nama kita disana.
Dengan tidak menerima hadiah itu, kita akan menyinggung pemberi hadiah yang memberikan kado tersebut. Dengan berkata tidak disaat diberikan hadiah, itu adalah sebuah kesombongan. Hal yang sopan yang kita bisa lakukan sebenarnya adalah menerima kado tersebut.
Tuhan sudah memikirkan ini, untuk memberikan Yesus kepada kita semua 2000 tahun yang lalu sebagai hadiah, oleh karena itu, terimalah hadiah itu.
3. Open the Gift and enjoy it
Kebanyakan dari kita hanya suka menerima kado tetapi tidak menikmatinya.

Sidney – Beberapa tahun yang lalu, saya tahu bahwa Istri saya ingin sekali punya satu backpack, dan untuk menyenangkan hati istri saya dengan memberikan yang terbaik, kemudian saya berikan itu disaat natal, tetapi dia merasa sayang untuk memakainya dan akhirnya tidak memakai itu selama bertahun-tahun, sampai musimnya sudah lewat dan akhirnya hadiah backpack itu dipakai oleh anak kami.
Beberapa dari kita juga suka melakukan itu, kita menerima dan membuka hadiah tetapi tidak pernah menikmatinya, begitu juga dalam hubungan kita dengan Yesus, apakah kita sudah berjalan bersama dengan Yesus dan menikmati kehadiran-nya?
Hadiah ini milik kita dan sudah menjadi bagian dari kita, tujuan dari Natal adalah agar kita bisa menikmati kehadiranNya yang merupakan hadiah dari Tuhan, di tengah-tengah semua hiruk pikuk natal yang kita sedang nikmati, ketahuilah bahwa Yesus datang ke dunia untuk meninggalkan semua kenyamanan-Nya di surga, menjelma menjadi manusia, dan mengorbankan diriNya untuk mengampuni dosa kita semua.
Bayi yang kita lihat di semua drama natal bukanlah bayi biasa, tetapi adalah Tuhan yang menjelma menjadi manusia dan datang untuk mati untuk kita semua, hadiah yang kita terima sekarang tidak berarti tanpa kehadiran Tuhan.
Closing Verse – “Aku berdoa supaya Ia, menurut kekayaan kemuliaan-Nya, menguatkan dan meneguhkan kamu oleh Roh-Nya di dalam batinmu, sehingga oleh imanmu Kristus diam di dalam hatimu dan kamu berakar serta berdasar di dalam kasih. Aku berdoa, supaya kamu bersama-sama dengan segala orang kudus dapat memahami, betapa lebarnya dan panjangnya dan tingginya dan dalamnya kasih Kristus, dan dapat mengenal kasih itu, sekalipun ia melampaui segala pengetahuan. Aku berdoa, supaya kamu dipenuhi di dalam seluruh kepenuhan Allah. Bagi Dialah, yang dapat melakukan jauh lebih banyak dari pada yang kita doakan atau pikirkan, seperti yang ternyata dari kuasa yang bekerja di dalam kita, bagi Dialah kemuliaan di dalam jemaat dan di dalam Kristus Yesus turun-temurun sampai selama-lamanya.
